Today is Christmas! I got so many great presents! My husband bought me a gorgeous pair of pearl earings (to go with my collection of pearls: ) ), a take along sudoku game, pajamas, a large bottle of one of my favorite wines: ), a bunch of delightful chocolates, and a few new cases for my mobile, and a few new DVD's that I am stoked for! From my family we got a new cutco cheese knife (pretty much the best knives in the world!), a Griddler (for indoor grilling and paninis! YUM!); I got a new pair of boots, a case and screen protector for my iPad AND a wireless keyboard! SCORE: )! Jeff got a boot dryer (which he is already obsessed with haha), some ammo for his rifle, and unfortunately a marshmallow bow and a remote control helicopter. I can vouch that the marshmallow bow hurts awfully bad when the marshmallow hits your in the forehead... And the Helicopter hurts when you get it launched into your back..
Last night, on Christmas Eve, we all got together at my Aunt's house! It's always soo much fun to get all of our family together! We normally do a gift exchange within the cousins only, but since we have all grown up and are harder to buy for, it's definately not as fun as it used to be! So this year I had suggested that we do an annonymous gift exchange! It was a HUGE hit! And the best part that was all 18 of us there could participate! A few of the gifts included: wine and chocolates, thermal socks and a thermal t-shirt, a Starbucks gift basket, an easybake oven, a beautiful blanket, a cookie baking set, a chiili set, a Hickory Farms gift pack, bath stuff, a SlapChop, and other various things! It was sooo much fun!
I do have to admit that I really like Christmas Eve much more than the actual day of Christmas. I love the family get together, the candle-lit church service, the great array of foods, great conversation, the atmosphere, etc. Christmas is wonderful, I love what it stands for, but I always feel like no matter how much Christmas day is drug on, it's not nearly as fun as the anticipation of Santa coming that night. I almost feel depressed after about 10am on Christmas day, because soon you have to take down all of your beautiful twinkling Christmas lights and decorations. You don't get wonderful cards in the mail from your friends and family, and everyone goes back to being un-captivated by the Holiday Spirit.
I am signing off for the night, to listen to Call of Duty Black Ops, and be pelted with marshmallows and a helicopter: ) I seriously love my husband: )
